The Time is Now – Later Than It’s Ever Been Before
Where to begin this blog: a question I’ve pondered. This site/blog is meant to have you share in our travel exploration; out and about on sailing catamaran Holiday. We’ve been meaning to start a blog, been wanting to start a blog, but didn’t make it happen. Until now… tah dah!
So now that I’m behind the actual get go of travel on Holiday, where do I begin? Catch-up from behind? Or start with where I’m at now, or somewhere along the way? My amateur writing training kicks in and says I must have a beginning, middle and an end. However:
- just perhaps, I should have gone to some of those travel writing seminars instead of all those fiction ones
- this is a site/blog, a continuous story, so I say to me “get over it”, and
- I don’t want to contemplate the end of life on Holiday anyway
Could this be the beginning? As much as it might look like it, this is one of our FINAL rounds of open-water (Pacific Ocean crossing) voyage preps. Countless rounds came before and there……will……be……more.
The Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em Solution
Dedication and consistency would be wonderful and are not going to happen. I try to mend my sporadic ways, but then…”oh look” there’s a whale, dolphin, sunset, good book, etc. Some folks are built for posting all the time and/or may be earning their way via social media so they are great at regular posting, but we have the luxury of not needing to go that route. We made the choice of working eight more years, post Attempt One (on sailing vessel Wild Ride), over trying to work along the way traveling. Getting underway sooner would have been grand, but having less financial pressure now is fabulous. There are pros and cons to the sooner/poorer route. Our choice works for us, and is one I’d make again (Cayman was not hard to take), but many will tell you go as soon as you can.
I’m sure we’ll get a better handle as time goes on, but for now we will post for you what we’ve got as it is ready. If a post is from a time before now, we will backdate the publish. We’ve added a Timeline page so you can get a sense of what happened when. We hope you will enjoy.
