About Us

Welcome Aboard!

Hello! Our names are Giselle and CJ; a very nice married couple. We are living aboard our 43′ Leopard sailing catamaran Holiday. We love to travel and explore, so yes, we are LIVING THE DREAM (must be maniacally shouted like Seinfeld’s “SERENITY NOW!”). We are thrilled with anything animal, so we frequently seek out animal encounters: wild, domestic, big, small, hairy, feathered, fins, paws, whatever. Living on the water makes the underwater creatures our go-to animals and we have lots to share.

Credits

Photo and video credit mainly go to CJ. He is world class! His love for underwater photography started almost as soon as he learned to scuba dive (back in the late 80s) and he has been passionate about both ever since.

Writing credit goes mainly to Giselle. I generally write using “I” so I don’t spin out second guessing the “we” experience, but most often I speak for the both of us. I switch from present tense to past tense and from “I” to “we” randomly and apologize in advance. Also, I write based on my faulty memory so please know that these ramblings are only my take on things and are not to be a trusted source of anything. One last thing to note, as boaters do, I sometimes refer to people by their boat name, not their given name; this is deference not disrespect. Well maybe nine parts deference, one part that faulty memory I just told you about. I’ll remember your boat’s name and your dog’s name and then your name will come to me too. Of course, it’s you!

Some History of Us

We were raised in Southern California. We started out life with the then standard two parents and additionally, with almost no effort, acquired one older sister each. Our parents along the way divorced and some remarried; not to each other. CJ and I lived all of about two miles apart and frequented the same hangouts such as the totally cool quickie-stop convenience store on the corner off the main drag. Oh man…they had every candy choice imaginable as well as frozen Slurpees we’d buy during our hot summer vacation months. But as far as we know, CJ and I never ran into each other until we were high school kids and both got a job at the Baskin-Robbins ice-cream store (we went to different high schools). CJ was the champion scooper during the annual banana-split sale and he had a golden banana trophy to prove it. And how was I to pass up someone with this kind of credential? So we became a thing and have been together ever since. Here is more quick history that takes you to now.
